If a thorough examination reveals publications, chiropractic
adjustments are recommended to help correct the condition. A chiropractic
adjustment is a specific force applied in a precise direction to a
mispositioned
(subluxatated) joint (spinal or non-spinal). Adjustments help to
return the bones to a more normal position or motion, thus relieving pain and
stress on the nervous
system.
Adjustments are so safe that even newborns and children receive them to help
repair some of the damage that may be caused from birth, learning to crawl or
walk, and other childhood traumas. Each adjustment is specific to the patient’s
size, age, and condition. The doctors in our clinic use their hands (or
fingertips in the case of infants or children) to adjust each patient.
Chiropractors spend five years in Chiropractic School perfecting
their adjusting techniques. Although there are hundreds of techniques, the goal
is the same- to eliminate or reduce the subluxation.
